About Julia
I started quilting in December 2014 after moving to the Pacific Northwest right after graduating from engineering school at the University of Alabama. I’ve always been an artistic person, and quilting became my after-work creative outlet. My day job is an aerospace engineer at Greenpoint Technologies analyzing custom jet interiors. After figuring it all out independently for a while, I decided to join the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild. Currently I fill my quilting time with pattern writing, starting new projects, and “curating” my stash.
My designs are modern and geometric, which I attribute to the engineering side of myself. I’m very inspired by the Pacific Northwest, and my designs tend to include a lot of forest green or navy.
When I’m not quilting, I enjoy traveling, hiking, running, sampling new beer, and playing with my dog, Andre.
