Class: Label Level Up + Embroider Your Handwriting
Creating a label is an important step in the quilting process. Labels provide documentation and preserve stories that could otherwise be lost. In this workshop students will consider both content and technique for labels.
Students will learn about various techniques to make a label in a range of simple to more complex. They will spend time drafting labels for current or future quilts, working in small groups to encourage and inspire each other. Students will learn that labels can be as unique as fingerprints, and be empowered to find a style that works for them.
In addition, students will learn to use their own handwriting as a template for embroidering text on any project, including labels.
Skill Level:
Some embroidery/hand stitching experience is recommended for this course.

Volunteer Needed:
An assistant is needed to support our in‑person workshop.
This role helps with managing setup and cleanup, checks students in, and serves as the primary day‑of point person for any instructor/student needs.The assistant is welcome to audit the class as a non‑participating observer if max enrollment is reached. Email programs@seattlemqg.com.
