️ Topic: See Color In a New Way
The opportunity to play with color has drawn people to quilting for generations. Whether using intuition, color theory, or simply what we have on hand, we have all developed color palettes for our quilts that speak to us in some way. What are they saying? In this trunk show lecture, explore different properties of color and see them in action. Follow Karen's journey as she seeks to understand color and how to use it for the biggest impact.
Karen Bolan is a quilter in Santa Rosa, California. She is drawn to the layers of design and expression possible in quilting, and she loves the learning that comes from experimenting. Her designs are out of the box, and integrate a love of geometry, experimentation, interconnection, depth, and texture. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines including recent features in Quilts Japan, Make Modern, and the QuiltCon Magazine, and her quilts have been exhibited at local and international shows including QuiltCon, Pacific International Quilt Festival, and the de Young Museum.
