Congratulations! You made it through our 2022 BOM! Now the fun begins: piecing our tops. There is no “correct” way to do this so I thought I’d show you a glimpse into my design process for this quilt. As a refresher, let’s look at our nine traditional blocks: |
You may have more, you may have less but this is what I am working with for the top of my quilt. From there, I did some searching through my quilt books and Pinterest and came up with a basic rough design for my top: |
Have I put it together? Nope. But I will! The fun thing about our BOM this year is everyone’s quilt will be their own unique piece. So enjoy this step of the process and don’t worry about finishing on time. I plan on making my quilt double sided so the back will have my reimagined blocks on it. Still working on that idea so more to come!
Shannon's Layouts Shannon is still figuring out the layout for her traditional blocks, and wants to tweak a couple of her blocks before she puts it together, but here are some of the ideas she was exploring for her first quilt. |
Shannon has her design figured out for her re-imagined blocks, but still needs to make a few more supplementary blocks. Here is a sneak peek with her cat, Nacho: |
